Harry Potter - It's all done!

I just saw the last Harry Potter movie... IT WAS AWESOME!!! If you have never been a Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling fan... then read ALL the books, and you will get the love fans have for the series and the characters! If you haven't read the books, then here's your summer reading book list... read them!

I was feeling a little melancholy thinking that the movies are finished... then I reminded myself that I felt this way when I finished reading the series, so it makes sense that I feel the same way after watching the last film. Oh well, it will be fun to reread and enjoy the excitement.

There's my las assignment for you... read Harry Potter this summer if you haven't. Now if you have read those books, check out the Mortal Instruments series, City of Glass.... Anyways I'm reading these books right now and enjoying them. Another fantasy... shadowhunters, demons, vampires, werewolves... you know I can't get enough. I also heard that the book Maze Runner is supposed to be awesome. I will be checking this out next!

Side notes and Harry Potter...

Check out the following link that features classic album covers "remixed and reimaged" to reflect Harry Potter actors... funny! Fans will get it... Some of my students might be a little young to "get" the comparisons... but get your parents to explain!

Sask Legislative Building Tour

On Friday, June 24th we will be visiting the Saskatchewan Legislative building for a tour. This field trip wraps up our Government unit in Social Studies. We will be taking a bus to the Legislature then taking a tour from 1:00 to 1:30, visiting by Wascana Lake from 1:30 - 2:00... then WALKING BACK TO DESHAYE. Students need to bring comfortable shoes for walking, water, sunscreen and bug repellent. Students will only be assessed on their behaviour and listening skills during the tour, so they can breathe a sigh of relief!!
